Aesthetician services at Cosmedica Dermatology in Washington, D.C. are grounded in the same clinical foundation that defines the practice. Each service is informed by skin analysis, guided by dermatologic expertise, and delivered using products selected from our clinical skincare lines. Skilled, evidence-informed care practiced within a physician-led dermatology practice and held to the same standard as every service offered at Cosmedica.
These services serve two distinct purposes. For patients undergoing a dermatologic treatment plan, aesthetician services extend and reinforce clinical results: maintaining the skin between visits, preparing it before procedures, and supporting recovery after. Aesthetician services are also a space for intention: for the patient who wants their skin to perform at its best before a significant occasion, or who returns because consistent, expert care is simply part of their standard. At Cosmedica Dermatology, both are part of the same continuum.
Sonia Chavez
Licensed Aesthetician
Sonia Chavez is a licensed aesthetician and certified medical assistant with over a decade of experience at the intersection of clinical medicine and advanced skincare. Her background in dermatology and clinical settings has shaped a thorough understanding of skin physiology, patient-centered care, and the standard of practice a physician-led environment requires.
At Cosmedica, Sonia provides facial and specialty aesthetic services including customized facials, HydraFacial, dermaplaning, superficial chemical peels, and personalized services under the supervision of Dr. Hogan. A clinical foundation informs every service she delivers, with attention to skin health, barrier function, and the individual patient's treatment plan. Sonia is dedicated to ensuring each patient receives thoughtful, skilled, and exceptional care.
